Noureen J. Khan, M.D.

Dr. Noureen Khan is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in both cataract and glaucoma surgery. She specializes in evaluating and treating patients with glaucoma disease. She performs glaucoma surgery, including lasers and the new minimally invasive glaucoma surgery procedures.  She is also a comprehensive medical and surgical ophthalmologist, evaluating and treating patients with routine and complex cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes, age related eye diseases and various other eye conditions.

Dr. Khan graduated summa cum laude from an accelerated six-year medical program with a major in Chemistry and a minor in French Literature from both Case Western Reserve and Case Western Reserve School of Medicine.  She spent a year studying in Paris at the prestigious Sorbonne and is fluent in French. Dr. Khan completed her ophthalmology residency from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Following residency, Dr. Khan completed a one-year intensive glaucoma surgery fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago, during which she completed over a thousand glaucoma and cataract surgeries.

 

She joined the faculty at Loyola University in Chicago and Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia for three years prior to returning home to Northern Virginia. She has authored several scientific articles and presented her research at many conferences, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Glaucoma Society. Dr. Khan has volunteered internationally in Guatemala performing both cataract and glaucoma surgeries.

 

During her free time, she enjoys chasing her two sons, OTF classes, tennis, and everything French!
