David J. Forster, M.D.

GENERAL OPHTHALMOLOGY

UVEITIS

Dr. Forster is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has been in practice with Northern Virginia Ophthalmology Associates since 1991.  During this time, he has focused on ophthalmology, cataract surgery, and the subspecialty of uveitis (inflammatory disease of the eye).  

After completing his undergraduate degree at Northwestern University, Dr. Forster obtained his medical degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo School of Medicine, graduating with honors.  He completed his residency training at Georgetown University, which was followed by a two-year fellowship in Uveitis and Ocular Immunology at the University of Southern California Doheny Eye Institute.  

 

During his years in practice in Northern Virginia, Dr. Forster has served as President of the Northern Virginia Academy of Ophthalmology, and is also Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Georgetown University Medical School.  He has authored numerous journal articles and textbook chapters in the field of ocular inflammatory disease.  He is regularly included in  Washingtonian Magazine's list of Top Doctors for Northern Virginia.  

 

Dr. Forster' interests outside of medicine include traveling with family, skiing, bicycling, and toying with the drums.
